FAQ

Where is the popup?

At The Side Quest, the arcade at 1313 Hewitt Ave, Everett, WA 98201.

When is it open, and how do I buy?

The shelf keeps The Side Quest’s hours. To buy a kit, take it to the regular Side Quest checkout.

Who runs the shelf, and who do I contact about a problem?

plamo.fans is a DBA of Boro Software LLC, selling on site at The Side Quest on a consignment basis. Please bring any complaints or issues to plamo.fans. For contact information, visit the Boro Software website.

What is plamo?

Plamo is short for plastic model, the Japanese name for the hobby. The best known kits are Gunpla, the Gundam kits made by Bandai. See the shelf guide for more.

Do I need glue or paint?

No. Most kits snap together and the parts come molded in color. Paint, decals and panel lines are optional extras.

What tools do I need?

A pair of side cutters is the only tool you need for a first build. A hobby knife or sanding stick helps clean up the small nubs left on each part.

Which kit should I start with?

An EG (Entry Grade) or HG (High Grade) kit. EG has the fewest parts. HG is the most common grade and the usual place to start.

What do the letters on the box mean?

That’s the grade: EG, HG, RG, MG, PG or SD. It tells you roughly how big and detailed the kit is. The shelf guide has the full chart.

Is plamo.fans affiliated with Bandai or any kit maker?

No. plamo.fans is fan-run and not affiliated with any kit manufacturer.
